What if my child is scared of needles?

That's ok, lots of adults are scared of needles too! The needles we use on children are MUCH smaller than the needles used at their doctor's office, in fact, they are so small we call them "Taps." We call them taps because that is what the child feels, most children do not experience any sort of discomfort whatsoever! However, we will never make a child do something they are uncomfortable with, so we have many non-needle techniques like acupressure, laser therapy, micro-current, gua-sha, and pediatric tui-na massage that can be utilized to help your child heal.

What can I expect at the first visit?

Prior to your first visit, we will email you our pediatric intake form so you can take your time completing it before your visit. This also gives you less stress because you will not be filling out forms while your child waits anxiously. When you arrive, you will notice we have calming, quiet toys available to engage your child while the acupuncturist discusses the child's health history with you. After the consultation, the acupuncturist will talk directly with your child to help them feel comfortable before the treatment begins.

How many treatments will it take?

Each child is different and every condition can vary in severity. At your first treatment you will receive a recommendation of the frequency and length of the course of treatments. If you have any questions at that time we will be happy to discuss your treatment plan.

How can I prepare my child?

Great Question! We want your child to feel as comfortable as possible when they arrive for their first visit, so we prepared a guide for you that will help you explain why they are coming in and help your child prepare for their first visit.
