How long will it take?
After the initial consultation, the course of treatment is 10 sessions over a period of 5 weeks. You will want to schedule your treatment for a time when you can commit to all 10 treatments without a break. Depending on the initial condition of the skin more courses of treatment may be required to achieve desired results.
What is the Cost?
After the initial consultation, each treatment costs $150. If paying in advance, the cost for all 10 treatments is $1250.
What does the treatment consist of?
The treatment begins with diagnosing any underlying health conditions and discussing lifestyle influences. We will then place needles at points in your body to bring balance. Then needles will be placed according to your goals. There are three procedures available. The abdominal stimulation is excellent for Reducing belly fat, treating digestive disorders and aiding weight loss. The neck and face stimulation decrease fine lines, wrinkles and skin sagging of the face and neck.
What kind of results can I expect?
Results vary by patient, but most can expect a more youthful appearance, eliminate or reduce fine lines and deep wrinkles, eliminate or reduce sagging skin along the jaw line, eliminate or reduce the appearance of rosacea and acne, reduce the appearance of hollow and sunken areas. Is this the same as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?
When many people refer to Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, they are usually referring to “threading” techniques that places longer needles directly into the wrinkles. Those procedures are more invasive and go much deeper into the layers of your skin which also means there is a greater chance of bruising. The Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System ™ uses micro-needling to stimulate the layers of skin but does not reach so deeply into the skin so that it causes damage. This helps to stimulate the skin to repair itself, leading to a healthy, younger appearance.
Will it be painful?
There is no guarantee that the procedure will completely painless. Most people do not have any discomfort with the needling procedure and will not experience pain. If you have very sensitive skin and you already know you are sensitive to acupuncture needles, you may experience a temporary discomfort when the needle is initially placed but that sensation will go away within moments.
